A Message to Our Community: Our Commitment Remains Strong
Dear Community,
We know that many in our community are feeling concerned by ongoing federal conversations and proposals that could affect the rights and services of people with disabilities. Please know that we are paying close attention, staying informed, and carefully monitoring developments as they unfold.
As we reflect on these conversations, we are also reminded of the significance of the Olmstead decision, which affirms that people with disabilities have the right to receive services and supports in the community.
Just this week, we recognized the 27th anniversary of this landmark decision – a powerful reminder that people with disabilities have the right to live, work, and thrive as valued members of their communities. That principle continues to guide our work and the values we share.
While there is still uncertainty, one thing remains certain: we are one community. We will continue to support one another, share information as it becomes available, and navigate whatever comes next together. Our commitment to the people we serve – and to protecting dignity, inclusion, opportunity, and belonging – is front and center.
You are appreciated, valued, and respected. Thank you for being you.
