Meet Xochitl Gonzalez & Amos Seong Byun,

SG/PRC’s Community Outreach Specialists

How can SG/PRC’s new Community Outreach Specialists help promote Purchase of Services (POS) Equity in our community? How can they help families understand and access services available to them?

As of September 2016, Ms. Gonzalez and Mr. Byun began new responsibilities at our agency to implement a variety of programs to promote equity in accessing Purchase of Service (POS) services for people we serve.  They have already begun reaching out and supporting existing parent support groups.  They will also be working on training and information, specifically, focused on helping our community understand the services available and how those services can be accessed by our families.  SG/PRC feels confident that both, Ms. Gonzalez and Mr. Byun will bring a lot of insight, as they both have many years of service coordination experience which will be very helpful with these new responsibilities.

Providing education and outreach to the community at large will be another area that they will be focusing on.  This type of outreach is primarily to bring awareness of the regional center system to the community to help connect those who may require our services and supports at some point in their lives.

Families can now schedule a Person-Centered Conversation session with Ms. Gonzalez or Mr. Byun.  These sessions are individual on-on-one meetings which are offered in English, Spanish, Korean and Chinese. To schedule your own individual session, please call the Parents’ Place at (626) 919-1091.     The purpose of these meetings is to help parents understand and/or navigate the services that regional centers can offer.  For more information, please click on flyers below:

You may also contact them directly to obtain up-to-date information on Support Groups and Training Opportunities for Clients and Families.   The Parent's Corner has been designed to keep you informed on upcoming activities and other useful information.  Please keep an eye out for more information coming soon.
