As of April 1st, vendors of certain in-home services can now apply for a monetary Incentive for hiring and retaining bi-lingual staff. Providers need to apply using the SG/PRC ABX2-1 Equity Proposal – Service Provider Incentive Application Form.
SG/PRC applied for and was granted ABX2-1 funds from the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to provide incentives to service providers to hire and retain bi-lingual staff to increase their capability of serving more bi-lingual and monolingual SG/PRC clients this year than last year.
Incentive Amount: Each incentive is $500 for each staff member who has been hired since January 1, 2017 and has been retained by the agency for a minimum of 90 days. To be eligible, staff members must work a minimum of 10 hours per week. See the application form for more details.
Staff Language Requirements: Bilingual in English and one or more of the following:
- American Sign Language (ASL)
- (other languages will be considered)
Eligible In-home Service Provider Categories:
- Agency Respite Workers (not parent choice)
- Applied Behavior Analysis/Behavior Management Services
- Independent Living Services (ILS)
- Infant Development
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Supported Living Services (SLS)
