Effective July 1, 2016, the County of Los Angeles enacted a minimum wage ordinance which increases the minimum wage in the unincorporated areas of L.A. County to $10.50 per hour (for employers with 25 or more employees). The City of Pasadena has adopted a similar ordinance which also became effective 7/1/16. Service providers who have staff providing services in these areas, and who are paid minimum wage are expected to comply with this ordinance. Click here for full news alert. Department of Developmental Services will hold four public meetings to consult with stakeholders, including consumers and families, advocates, providers, and protection/advocacy agencies, to review purchase of service data and develop recommendations to help reduce disparities.

This is public forum scheduled on August 23rd, 2016 to get public comment on proposed strategies, to suggest activities that may be effective in addressing the disparities, and to provide recommendations to be incorporated in the proposals.
