Each regional center is governed by a board of directors. The board sets policy and direction for the regional center. The board of directors is made up of 15 volunteers from the community. The composition of the board is defined by the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, and shall include at least 50 percent parents and clients.
The Board of Directors is continually recruiting members for the Board and its committees. Our contract requires that the composition of our Governing Board conform to the Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 4622. The Governing Board shall reflect the geographic and ethnic characteristics of the area we serve.
