The San Gabriel/Pomona Valleys Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1987 that provides financial support to persons who are developmentally disabled and their families. A developmental disability is one of the following:
- Mental Retardation
- Cerebral Palsy
- Epilepsy
- Autism
- Other conditions closely related to mental retardation
A developmental disability does not include solely physical, learning and psychiatric conditions. Since the establishment of the Foundation, assistance has been provided for the following:
- Eye glasses for a client who had broken his, and was not eligible for public funding sources for another two years
- School supplies to enable a client to attend special classes
- Hospital bed rental not covered public funding
- Subsidize recreational sport programs for specially challenged individuals
- Purchase computer equipment enabling clients to meet their special educational needs
- Co-sponsor theatre productions performed by persons with special needs
- Emergency funds for rent payments, food, medical and utility expenses
The Foundation Board needs your help in providing the opportunity for clients to have choices in living, working and learning in the community. You can help by:
- Serving on the Board as a Director or Advisory Director
- Participate in Fund-Raising - October's Annual Golf Event
- Contributing a Donation
All funds raised by the Foundation go directly to helping the client and their family. The Foundation holds an annual golf tournament in October to support their efforts in purchasing services and supports where needed. If you would like to donate your time, or know of someone who would like to help, please call (909) 868-7732 or e-mail Yvonne Gratianne at

The foundation meets the third Wednesday of every
OTHER month at the regional center at 6 p.m.
In partnership with the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center, we seek to improve the quality of life of the developmentally disabled clients of the regional center, and their families, by providing assistance and activities which would otherwise not be available through the center or any other agency. We use donated money, volunteer time, and creative ideas to:
- Provide direct client assistance to the clients
- Sponsor community activities
- Sponsor new service providers
- Develop educational programs and fund scholarships
- Promote research and demonstration projects.
